Historic North Kingstown (HNK) is a Rhode Island 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of North Kingstown and its villages. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to being transparent about how we collect and use information.
What Information We Collect
We collect personal information only when you choose to share it with us. This may include:
- Contact form: Your name, email address, and the contents of your message
- Volunteer form: Your name, email address, and any availability or interest information you provide
- Donations via GiveButter: Your name, email address, and payment information. Payment transactions are processed securely by GiveButter and are subject to their privacy policy. HNK does not store your payment details.
We also collect anonymous usage data through Google Analytics, such as which pages are visited and how visitors arrive at the site. This data does not identify you personally.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you share with us to:
- Respond to your questions or inquiries
- Follow up on volunteer interest and coordinate opportunities
- Process and acknowledge donations
- Send occasional updates about HNK news, events, or membership — but only if you have opted in to receive them
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Our site uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:

We retain contact and volunteer inquiry information only as long as needed to respond to your request or coordinate your involvement. Donation records are retained as required for nonprofit financial and legal compliance.

Children's Privacy
Our site is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
